CONSTABLE FLOWN OUT

Constable B. Thomson, of Christchurch who took ill on Wednesday on a search and rescue training exercise at Arthur’s Pass, was flown to Christchurch in a R.N.Z.A.F. Sioux helicopter yesterday. After being seen by a doctor at Christchurch Hospital, he was discharged. Constable Thomson was one of a party which had walked in to the Mingha bivouac.

The helicopter landed at the bivouac about 10.15 a.m. and returned to the Wigram base at 12.40 p.m., having refuelled at the Springfield school during the journey.
