Expo Stamp Success
i New Zealand postage - stamps are enjoying a spec- ' tacular success at Expo 70 in Osaka. More than 30,000 specially prepared packets of stamps have been sold since the opening of Expo in March. The most successful stamps have been the series issued by the Post Office to mark the exhibition itself. Before the series arrived in Osaka one Japanese dealer ordered 3000 sets, and 4000 copies of the 8c stamp which features the New Zealand pavilion. The Post Office sent one of its staff, Mr C. Busfield, to the exhibition to supervise sales of stamps in eight packets valued from 24c to $5.42. Koreans Arrive A Korean crew of 12 to man the deep-sea trawler Taimoana I on a delivery voyage to Panama arrived by air from Korea yesterday. The 300-ton Taimoana 1. which has been based at Lyttelton since November, 1967, was recently sold by Taimoana Fisheries, Ltd, a syndicate of Christchurch businessmen in partnership with the Taiyo Fishery Company, the largest enterprise of its kind in the world. She is expected to leave Lyttelton for Panama in the next few days.
