SCOTS WIN

Improved Display

(N.Z. Press Assn,— Copyright) SYDNEY.

The Scottish Rugby team scored the most convincing victory of its Australian tour, beating the powerful Sydney side, 27-12 yesterday. The tourists struck top form in their last match before the international against Australia on Saturday. They scored three tries to Sydney’s two, but their goal kicker, W. Lauder, in an almost faultless display, contributed 18 points. G. Brown, K. Oliver and M. Smith scored Scotland’s tries. For Sydney, R. Prosser and R. Rosenblum scored tries, and J. Williams kicked two penalties. Yesterday the Scots adapted better to the hard and fast conditions and played the best attacking football of the tour. Over-ail, they showed such improved form that they are now rated an even-money chance against the Wallabies.
