SADDLE BAR STOOLS

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Ellerslie Hotel, long associated with the nearby racecourse, was closed this morning and a $600,000 motor hotel opened in its place. Built by Campbell and Ehrenfried Company, Ltd, which owns it, the motor hotel has 12 twin-bed units, a restaurant and three bars, including a garden bar able to seat 500.

The association with’ racing has been maintained and the enclosure bar has stools modelled on jockeys’ saddles.
