WELLINGTON. The All Black utility back, G. F. Kember, was satisfied with his match for the Wellengton representative team against Manawatu on Monday.
Selected to tour South Africa without a trial, it was Kember’s first match since he injured ligaments in Japan more than two months ago. “I feel fine and have no twinges at all,” he said after the game. “I think it’s a matter of gaining more confidence as I have more matches.” Kember said he would have a final medical test on Wednesday, “but could see no problems.” In Monday’s match, Kember scored 12 points—a try, a penalty and three conversions, all in the first half. After putting everything he had into his first three kicks and missing each one, he slowed down and met with success with a penalty from 45 yards, and two conversions from wide out.
Final Delayed.—Rain forced a two-day postponement of the final of the 830,000 Rawlings tennis classic at St Louis Missouri. The final is an all-Austra-lian match between R. Laver and K. Rosewall.
