Trees To Go

Pohutakawa trees plaited on the Charteris Bay foreshore some years ago by Dr M. Lansberg, will be removed by the Mount Herbert County Council. At its meeting yesterday the council agreed that the trees were growing over the road and that an effort would be made to move them. It was also agreed to plant trees on foreshores and reserves elsewhere. Cr C. CManson said he hoped the trees would not be left to die, as had happened with other such plantings.
