WELLINGTON, May 20. , Austin car prices had been . increased four weeks ago with the approval of the Price Tri- , bunal, the general manager , of the New Zealand Motor Corporation (Mr P. J. Hall) ' said today |i The increases ranged be- I tween about 2j per cent and ’ about 5 per cent, he said, and 1 resulted from increases in the 1 overseas price of components. An application for a similar increase in the price of ' Morris cars was now before ' the Price Tribunal. This, if , granted, would increase the cost of the Mini by about $53, the 1100 by about $4O, and : the 1800 by about $64. These amounts were similar to the increases in the prices of Austin cars.
