CANADIAN BARLEY

Biggest Cargo To N.Z. (N Z. Press Association) TAURANGA, May 21. The largest shipment of barley to be imported into New Zealand is due at the port of Tauranga late next month. The Olga Topic will discharge half of its 13,000-ton cargo at Mount Maunganui and half at Auckland. A Wellington spokesman of Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd, said another shipment of the same quantity would be discharged at both ports in August. The shipments are a result of the drought earlier in the year when many farmers were forced to use their winter feed. The barley is Canadian and will be loaded at Vancouver.
