Churches Call On Govt
The National Council of Churches in New Zealand is| to urge the New Zealand Government to express its strong feeling that United States military involvement in Cambodia should quickly be brought to an end and that the withdrawal of its forces from Indo-China should be accelerated.
This was agreed by the council’s executive committee at its monthly meeting in Christchurch.
The committee also agreed to request the Government to confirm that under no circumstances will New Zealand troops be used in Cambodia and to call upon it to promote such negotiations as might be necessary to secure the removal of all foreign troops of whatever origin. A gift of $3OOO is to be made by the council’s Christian World Service department for relief work in Cambodia.
