$50,000 Offer Declined

The Addington trainer, R. C. Whitford, has refused an offer of $50,000 for his three-year-old pacer, Sam Tryax. “The offer came last week from an Australian syndicate,” said Whitford, who added that “he's not for sale in tlie meantime, anyway. I'll wait until the New Zealand Cup and Inter-Domonion meetings next season, and. if he’s to be sold, it won’t be for $50,000.” Sam Tryax has been back jogging with Whitford for ; some weeks after a spell ■of about four months. He looks to have thrived and relished the light cantering he was given yesterday morning. No definite plans have heen made for Sam Tryax’s future racing, but he will probably resume at the National meeting in August at Addington.
