Hulme Out Of “Indy”

(N.Z.P.A.-neuter—Copyright) INDIANAPOLIS. D. Hulme, whose hands were severely burned when his racing car burst into flames on Tuesday, confirmed yesterday that doctors had ruled out any possibility of his driving in the Indian: apolis 500-mile race on May 30. “I’m feeling very good, but the doctors say my hands will be too tender to drive in the event,” the 33-year-old former world champion said in an interview from the hospital where he is recovering. “The doctors may decide to graft some skin on to the back of my hands. In any event, they think I’ll be able to leave the hospital next Wednesday or Thursday.”
