Doctor To Establish Course In Australia
The setting up of a course in comparative embryology will be part of the work to be undertaken by Dr M. S. R Smith, formerly of Rangiora, who has been appointed a lecturer at the University of New South Wales school of ana tomy. For the last three years and a half, Dr Smith has been doing post-doctorate research in Britain on a Wellcome Trust research fellowship. For his first year in Britain, Dr Smith was at the University of Bangor in Wales, where he worked closely with Mr I. B. Wilson. They produced a number of papers which were published in scientific journals. For the rest of the time in Britain. Dr Smith was at the University of Southhampton. Although then at separate universities, Dr Smith and Mr Wilson continued to co-oper-ate closely in their work and still had papers on their work published as joint efforts. Dr Smith hopes to continue in Sydney a lot of the work that he began in Britain but “new avenues may open up.” Dr Smith’s research in em-
