Two Fires In Cars

A fire heiieath the dashboard of a truck on the Lyttelton-Christchurch tunnel road abbut 10.11 a.m. on Thursday caused minor damage. One fire appliance from Woolston' attended. The truek belongs to Mr J. Harris, of 20 Strowan Road. Staff of the road tunnel authority helped to" put the fire out.

A faulty electrical circuit in a car dashboard outside 412 Blenheim Road about 1.34 p.m. caused minor damage. One machine from Sockburn attended. The car belongs tn Mr R. J. Walshe, of 20 Hood Street. ■ Seven minutes later machines from Sydenham and Sockburn were sent to 33 I Dunstan Crescent, where I there was a fire in a coal box I adjacent to a house. A hose reel was used to extinguish it before the house was damaged. The occupier is Mr L. C. Smith.
