The £llsm plan to merge the Reed Paper Group and the International Publishing Corporation is not to be referred to the Monopolies Commission. the British Government says. Reeds, one of Britain’s two largest newsprint producers, employs more than 54,000 Kple and has diversified n newsprint and paper into wallpaper and paints. The International Publishing Corporation, employing 28,000 and said to be the world’s largest publishing “empire,” owns the masscirculation “Daily Mirror” and a host of popular magazines and trade journals, and publishes books. It also has interests in television.

The grouping of the two companies will form them into Britain's flfteentb-largest industrial complex.
