3 Hurt In Collision

Three persons were admit- t ted to the Kaikoura Hospital with injuries after a collision on State Highway No. 1 at Ohau Point 17 miles north of Kaikoura, at 12.15 p.m. yes- i terday. ( Those injured are Mrs E. ? M Hartley, aged 78. of 23 1 Barnborough Street, Invercargill, who suffered a fractured leg and lacerations to the forehead: Mrs I. Smith, aged 71, of 11 Taramea Street. Christchurch, who suffered abrasions of the legs: and George Edward McLellan, aged 82, of East Road, Invercargill, who was admitted for observation: 1 Mr McLellan was driving < north when there was a collision between his car and another vehicle towing a cara- < van travelling south. The. i other injured persons were < passengers in his car. The driver of the other vehicle, Mr R. C. Tusk, a retired school teacher, of Napier, and his three passengers were not injured. Both ; vehicles were extensively damaged.
