Mayor Gives Luncheon

Representatives of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association. the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, “The Press," and the “Christchurch Star” attended a luncheon at the invitation of the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr A. R. Guthrey). in the City Council chambers yesterday. Mr Guthrey said it was one of a series of informal discussions that he was holding occasionally with prominent persons in the community to discuss the welfare and future of the city. He said that topics discussed yesterday included immigration in relation to Canterbury, and ways of attracting industries.
