Tender Let For Work

WELLINGTON, Feb. 11
A tender had been accepted for premises for the McKenzie residential school for maladjusted children at Yaldhurst, the Minister of Education (Mr Taiboys) announced; today. The school, the second of its type in New Zealand, will be administered by the Department of Education. The psychological service and child welfare divisions will be closely associated with it. “It will cater for children who, for a variety of reasons, have become so tense, insecure or anxious that they are unable to progress in the ordinary classroom or in their own home." Mr Taiboys said.
The tender, which covers the conversion of the homestead on the gift property and the erection of new buildings. had been awarded to Mr M. J. Graham at a price of $120,160.
