Week-end Accidents

Car Hits Pole.—Jessie Roberts, .of 26 Thackeray Street, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital with head and leg injuries after a car hit a pole in Halswell Road about 4.40 a.m. yesterday. John Arthur Albert Roberts, of the same address, was treated at the casualty department for leg injuries. Seven Injured.—When two cars collided at the northern end of Marshland Road about 10.25 p.m. on Saturday, seven persons were injured. Audrey Dowling, of 18 Douglas Street, Amberley, and John Allot, of 15 Ajax Street, Shirley, were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital with head injuries. Joyce Helen Mundy suffered leg injuries; Albert William Mundy, chest injuries; Suzanne Mundy, arm injuries; and Rosemary Mundy, head injuries. The Mundy family live at 59 North Road, Amberley. Dale Hughes, of 1 Markham Street, suffered head injuries. They were all treated at the casualty department.

Three persons were admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head injuries after a car rolled over at the corner of Collins and Springs Roads, near Lincoln College, late on Friday evening. They are Aaron John Brown, of the R.N.Z.A.F. Station, Wigram, Christine and Heather Winter, of 902 Colombo Street. Valerie Milne, of the same address, was treated at the casualty department of the Christchurch

Hospital for arm injuries. Head Injuries.—A pedestrian, Herbert Spalding, of 121 Norwich Street, was admitted to the resuscitation ward of the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries after he was struck by a car at the corner of Fitzgerald Avenue and Worcester Street about 10.30 p.m. on Saturday. His condition was reported last evening as fair. Cyclist Injured.—Head injuries were suffered by Sheryl May Croton, of 65 Port Hills Road, Heathcote, when her cycle and a car collided near the Heathcote School about 11.15 a.m. on Saturday. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
