IRRIGATION INQUIRY

The irrigation committee of the Water Allocation Council, which is looking into the adequacy of present ' irrigation policy and its administration, is seeking submissions from interested organisations and persons. The committee plans to visit Canterbury between April 6 and 10 to inspect present irrigation and to acquaint itself with the views and opinions of persons and organisations Interested in irrigation. The District Commissioner of Works (Mr'D. A. Lane), has written to a number of organisations which it is thought may wish to make submissions to the committee, but it is felt that there may be others, including individual persons, who would also like to do so. Such submissions in writing should be sent to the Dis-
