"COWARDLY ASSAULT”

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. One of two men allged to have assaulted a traffic officer at Trentham on January 14 was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court today. Passing sentence on Geoffrey John Traynor, aged 21, a lineman, Mr W. McAlevey, S.M., said the assault was cowardly. Traynor pleaded not guilty.
