Improvement Sought
The Christchurch Teachers’ College Council wants an improvement in admission procedures which were criticised by the principal of the secondary division (Mr E. P. Blampied) at a meeting last ievening. Commenting on notification of incoming students from the department, he said: ■“This is the worst situation (yet.” He noted a deterioration from the unsatisfactory situation of last year. “No institution could function properly under the department’s system of notifications, and we would be in al hopeless situation were it not' for our efforts to obtain the information we require.” Mr; Blampied said. It was decided that talks and negotiations should be held with the department I soon. He said tb.at the estimated roll of 700 would be 20 above (last year’s figure and 20 above I expectations.
