VANDALS IN CHURCH

Sacred Objects Smashed (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, February 3. Vandals smashed many sacred objects when they broke into the Catholic Church at Tokoroa - yesterday. The parish priest, Father P, Kelly, said today he was appalled at the desecration of the church. Confessionals had been destroyed, hosts had been interfered with and the tabernacle had been broken into. Vandals had urinated on the chapel floor. Tokoroa police believe children were responsible for the damage. It is thought they entered the church between noon and 2 p.m. yesterday.
