Proms Programmes

Sir, —The N.Z.B.C. is advertising the Symphony Orchestral Proms concerts with no reference to the actual programmes. Are we supposed to be so flattered by the visit that we are expected to rush to the booking office in blind admiration regardless of all personal preference for any particular programme offered? To peruse the programmes at the booking office prevents all consideration and consultation with others and is totally inadequate.— Yours, etc., B. POLLARD. January 27, 1970. [The southern regional director of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation (Mr J. N. M. Norman) replies: “Leaflets containing application forms and full programme details of each of the three concerts are mailed to regular subscribers to the series and are also freely available at the booking office and at the reception desk of 3YA and 3ZB. Early publication of programme details in local newspapers was omitted and this is regretted.’*]
