$7000 SENT TO FIJI

i One Per Cent Aid Move (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. The One Per Cent Aid for international development movement had obtained Reserve Bank approval to send $7OOO to Fiji, a spokesman for the group said in Wellington I today. Last year the group asked the Government to increase its overseas aid to 1 per cent of the gross national product and offered the $7OOO as a contribution. The offer was declined. The money is being sent to the registrar of the University of the South Pacific for use in a revolving trust fund, from which loans will be made to students from any- ■ where in the Pacific to help with their tuition. The university was adding to the fund, which would be known as the New Zealand s bursary fund, the spokesman said.
