The posts, saying where paddleboards could be used on Ute beach, were sawn off on Saturday, three weeks after being erected by the Christchurch City CotinclL The managing director of the company, which wishes to remain anonytnous, said yesterday that he would like to express his concern about the irresponsible act of vandalism. “This type of thing can have serious repercussions for innocent members of the public, and should be censured in the strongest possible way," he said. “I trust this act will encourage other firms to make rewards available to assist in stamping out these senseless acts of vandalism.”
