Rowing Finals For Fours

The Union club junior crew gained first place and the Canterbury mixed crew fastest time in the mixed fours rowing competition on Kerr’s Reach yesterday The races were held to give local fours a good work-out before the Marlborough regatta in the Christmas holiday. Five crews—three from Union and two from the Canterbury clubentered and two heats and a final were raced.

The Canterbury entrants were a senior crew, a mixed senior and junior four while Union entered a junior, a maiden and a novice crew. Next Saturday, a '“shadow" regatta for fours and possibly pairs will be held at Kerr's Reach. Results were:—Union Juniors, 6.53. 1: Union novices. 6:55. 2: 'Canterbury mixed crew.
