BRIERLEY STANDS OUT INK EASIER SHAREMARKET
Brierley shares again rose strongly in an easier sharemarket yesterday. The old shares gained 30c, to 270 c, on a long string of sales which in Wellington touched 275 c, and the contributings put on 45c to 220 c
Movements were generally small, and trading was slightly less active. The overseas list was firm. :
1.C.1.N.Z. hardly reacted at all to the announcement of the dividend increase and the good profit rise: the star--gained Ic, to 233 c. ! N.Z.T.S., on the other hand, responded better to its good interim statement by pitting on sc, to 156 c. All New Zealand exploration issues were firm.
Leaders especially featured among the falls, but the market decline was led by Seabrook Fowlds, which lost He in the ex-dividend sales of 154 c.
