ENTRY TO CAMBODIA
Refusal To Journalists
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PHNOM PENH, Dec. 7. Cambodia has ordered a systematic refusal of all applications for entry visas lodged by foreign journalists. A circular issued by the office of the Head of State (Prince Norodon Sihanouk), and published in Phnom Penh today, said the measure had been taken for "unavoidable financial and austerity reasons.” The circular was addressed to the heads of all diplomatic missions in Phnom Penh. It ordered that all journalists, whether writers, radio or television reporters, photographers or newsreel'cameramen, should be automatically refused visas on applying for them. The circular said the measure was a general one. It said that the Head of State and his ministers had been forced in the past to spend money on lending “cars, planes and helicopters” to journalists.
