Bulgaria 15th Finalist

Bulgaria became the fifteenth country to qqalify for next year’s World Cup soccer final in Mexico when it beat Luxemburg, 3-1, to clinch top place in qualifying group eight But Luxemburg, without a point from its five previous group matches, made Bulgaria fight for victory after a second-half penalty had made the score 2-1. Only qualifying group 15 remains to be decided to complete the 18 World Cup finalists. Australia and Israel will meet in the second leg in Sydney on December 14, Israel holding a 1-0 first-leg lead.
England, the holder, and Mexico, the host, qualify for the final automatically and have so far been joined by Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, El Salvador, Morocco, Sweden, West Germany. Belgium, Italy, Rumania, Russia, Czechoslovakia and now Bulgaria The draw for the four final groups will be made in Mexico City on January 10.
