Service Record
Sir Joseph Ward yesterday established a record for service on the Canterbury University Council, passing the 34 years two months served by the late Mr A. E. Flower. Sir Joseph Ward became a member of the council in 1934, and has served continuously except for a break of a year. References to his service and his enthusiasm for the Ham site were made at the council's meeting yesterday.
