Help For Farmers

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, December 8. As relief for drought-stricken South Canterbury farmers, the Cabinet today decided to pay transport fees both ways for stock which has had to be sent out of the district for pasturing.

The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) tonight said that the decision related to stock sent up to 300 miles away. The decision was made in response to a request by the South Canterbury Relief Committee.
