Japan Asks For Pilots

All Nippon, the domestic airline in Japan, is interested in recruiting New Zealand commercial pilots who have experience in Fokker Friendships. At present no detailed information of conditions of employment is available but a brief request for such pilots has been received by the National Airways Corporation. A spokesman said movement from one airline to another was normal but NJLC. was awaiting further information from Japan to see whether the Japanese request could be met. Several pilots have shown interest in the request During the transition period after the introduction of the Boeing 737 s the corporation had a slight surplus of pilots although these would be absorbed in the airline’s developing programmes, said the spokesman. From time to time opportunities arise for NAC. pilots to go to Air New Zealand and three pilots will move there soon
