Nurses Get Viet Cong Car

(NZP.A.-Reuter—Copyright) VUNG TAU (S. Vietnam), November 11. An old French sedan painted vivid pink and with three bullet holes in the rear windscreen has become the staff car for Australian and New Zealand nurses at Vung Tau. The car, captured by New Zealand troops in Phouc Tuy province, is thought to have been used by Viet Cong assassination squads as a get-away vehicle. The New Zealanders airlifted the car to their base at Nui Dat, 40 miles south-west of Saigon. After repairs and a coat of pink paint they gave it to the nurses at the First Australian Field Hospital at Vung Tau. The girls added a scattering of flower transfers. The girls now use it on the run between the hospital and Vung Tau beach.
