Whitebait Catches There have been many good runs of whitebait in Buller and Karamea rivers over the last week and the National Airways Corporation has taken 90001 b to the Wellington market in nine days. Dealers report good runs in all rivers along the coast since the beginning of the month. A Granity resident said that one person caught 1701 b jn the Mokihinui River and many other good catches had been made there. At Karamea 25001 b of whitebait had been caught A dealer said that so far this season, about 57 tons had been caught in rivers in the area.— F.0.0.R. International Calls The Post Office has accepted 952 international telephone call reservations for the Christmas and New Year period. More than 700 have been lodged for the United Kingdom, 156 for. Australia, 45 for the United States, 38 for Canada, five for Fiji and four for SouthEast Asia. The Deputy Chief Postmaster in Christchurch (Mr J. A. Trevarton) said the period between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and midnight on Christmas Day had been booked out So had the periods between midnight and 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Boxing Day and 11 a.m. and noon on New Year's Day. No more calls would be accepted for those periods, but reservations for cancelled calls would be taken.
