DISPLAY AT YALDHURST

Steam-powered Vehicles Four traction engines, a steam roller, a portable steam engine, and about 20 other vehicles, mainly cars and motor-cycles, will be on show at a steam field day to be held at Yaldhurst on Sunday by the Steam Preservation Society and the Yaldhurst Transport Museum.

The display will feature a balancing demonstration by the traction engines, wood being sawn on a saw bench coupled to a steam engine, and a balloon test. It will be held in the arena next to the museum in School Road, Yaldhurst, beginning at 1,30 p.m. A public steering event will also be held giving members of the public the opportunity to steer, but not to drive some of the vehicles. Proceeds from the field day will be used to develop the museum and Steam Preservation Society.
