Queensland Sends Five Once again Christchurch is to play host to a section of play in the Rothmans International round-robine squash rackets series. This was announced at the monthly meeting of the Canterbury Squash Rackets Association. The president (Mr J. H. N. Pine) gave details of the series, which has attracted some of the leading New Zealand players and a team of five from Queensland. The Christchurch round will be on Tuesday, November 4. Other rounds will be played at Rotorua (2), November 1 and 2; Palmerston North, November 3: and the final round at the North Shore club in Auckland on November 6.
In the round to be played in Christchurch, two local players will be included and it was decided by the meeting that these would be chosen by Messrs Pine and M. R. Blank after elimination matches during the next 10 days.
The Queensland team contains three of the side which defeated New Zealand, 3-1 in the Australian inter-State series in July. New Zealand representatives taking part in the series are T. R. Johnston, S. P. O’Dwyer, L. M. Greene, J. Isaacs and M. McKenzie. Greene. McKenzie and Isaacs will play in Christchurch.
