Bomb Blasts In Haifa

A woman died and six other people were injured in an explosion in the Haifa area just before dawn today, only a few hours after scores of Arabs had been rounded up for questioning about a series of blasts in Israel’s largest port during the previous 24 hours.
One man was killed and several others were wounded by explosions in several blocks of flats in Haifa yesterday. The police, who say they believe the bombs were planted by an Arab guerrilla group, probably from the Amman-based Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, detained a number of Arabs for questioning last night The Arab population among the 200.000 people in Haifa is about 5000. The explosions drew a stern warning from the Israeli Prime Minister (Mrs Golds Meir), who said that Israel would find ways of punishing the terrorists and those who had sent them. In Tel Aviv, a military spokesman said that Egyptian aircraft tried to bomb the Israeli settlement of Nahal Yam. in Northern Sinai, early this morning, but caused no damage or casualties. The attack followed a strike during the night byIsraeli jets on Egyptian positions at the southern edge of the Suez Canal. On the canal itself, Egyptian and Israeli forces fought a sharp, 15-minute
