Cigarettes Unclaimed
The Hornby police have been unable to trace the owner of 50 cartons of assorted cigarettes handed to them in August They are valued at $l5O. Senior-Sergeant C. G. Evans, in charge of the Hornby police, said the cigarettes had been in a larger carton which apparently had fallen from a passing vehicle. The cigarettes had not been reported stolen or lost and in spite of extensive inquiries in Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill, the owner had not been! found.
