DECREASE IN CRIME

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 13. The Auckland police have reported a further drop in burglaries, car conversions and false pretences in September. The August figure was down on that for July and there was a further fall last month. House burglaries dropped from 188 in August to 97 in September. Other burglaries fell from 268 to 259 and unlawful faking of vehicles from 164 to 131. Incidents of false pretences dropped from 75 to 58 but thefts from houses, shops, "vehicles and other places increased from 147 to 149.
