DEATH OF MANUKA
Flying Saucer Discounted (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 13. Victoria University scientists have ended their study of the Ngatea circle, convinced that there is a rational explanation for the dead manuka and the triangular impression in the soil. They have ruled out the possibility of a flying saucer. A full report on their findings will be released in about a The Minister of Science (Mr Taiboys) announcing the result of a D.S.I.R. investigation, said last Friday that the manuka had died of natural causes. He discounted claims that an extra-terrestrial phenomenon was involved.
