Doctors Seek Higher Pay
(N.Z. Press Association I HAMILTON, October 14. Six Taupo doctors who are prepared to work at the new Taupo General Hospital are asking for money equal to their likely earnings in private practice. The Waikato Hospital Board was told yesterday that the doctors would be paid about $2560 a year for working 40 per cent of their normal week as medical officers. The spokesman for the doctors said this would be equal to about $4 an hour. The doc tors felt the board should pay about $l2 an hour, which they earned in private practice.
