THOMPSON TO RETURN
(H.Z. Press Assn.-—Copyright) BRISBANE. A seasonal lack of top-class cycling events in Australia has forced the New Zealander D. R. Thompson, to return home. Thompson will compete in topline road races in New Zealand where the season has not yet reached its peak. Thompson is now an Australian citizen. living on Queensland’s gold coast He won a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games road race for New Zealand and spent several seasons in Europe before coming to Australia. He became the Australian marathon road champion when he easily won the national title in Tasmania six weeks ago.
