SKATING EVENT

Glover To Compete G. E. Glover, of Christchurch, is to compete in the 1969 world track speed skating championships to be held in Argentina early in December. Glover's entry was initiated by the Christchurch Amateur Roller-Skating Club and it has been confirmed by the New Zealand Federation of Roller-Skating. It will be Glover’s third overseas trip in the last four years. He was a member of the high.ly-successful New Zealand team which went to the 1968 championships in Italy. Glover has been the New Zealand road racing champion five times but this season he has taken advantage of the new world-class banked track at the Rollerdrome in Sockbum. He will race In Argentina tinder similar conditions to those at the Rollerdrmne Mr D. Carruthers, of Masterton, will accompany Glover as his manager.
