Greater expenditure was needed to overcome the crisis in New Zealand education three National Party candidates and four members of Parliament were told at a meeting organised by the Christchurch Combined Educational Association on Monday evening, the secretary (Mr P. D. Tonson) said afterwards.

The association emphasised planning in education and in particular the need for an education development conference. A sense of priorities especially in pre-school and post-primary education, was also discussed, said Mr Tonson.

The newly formed association recently held discussions on education with Social Credit candidates and plans next to speak to Labour Party members and candidates.
