DEATH OF ACTRESS

Husband Seeks Murder Clue

(N.Z.P .A .’Reuter —Copyright) NEW YORK, Aug. 25.

The American actress, Sharon Tate, must have been in bed asleep when her killer began his wild- rampage which resulted in the death of five persons, says her husband, the fiim director, Roman Polanski.

Mr Polanski’s reconstruction of the murders, appears in this week’s issue of the magazine, “Life,” together with photographs taken in and around the house in Los Angeles. “Sharon must have been asleep that night,” Mr Polanski writes. “The big double bed had been slept in, on one side only. She must have been awakened by the noise.” Miss Tate’s body was found in front of the beige velvet couch in the living room. Her first baby would have been born in a month, but it died with her, doctors discovered. “There is a clue somewhere —I can feel it,” Mr Polanski writes.

“Something the police have missed. I must find the thread.”
