Crew Of Rainbow II Back In N.Z.
(N.Z. Press Association) i AUCKLAND. As a final tribute from a masterly skipper to New Zealand’s most famous yacht, C. Bouzaid slept alone on Rainbow II the night before he and his crew left for home. “It was a very sad moment for us all,” said Bouzaid yesterday when he four of his crew returned from their yachting expedition, which won the One Ton Cup at Heligoland and numerous races at Kiel and Cowes. Bouzaid sold Rainbow II to a Bermuda buyer in England for about £7OOO. Bouzaid said he and his crew were almost certain to sail in the cup defence in February or March, 1971. “We talked this over among ourselves. One of us is almost certain to build a yacht to have a go at defending the cup.” One of the crew, A. War-
wick, was full of praise for Bouzaid’s helmsmanship. “He is an amazing helmsman, a master. In the second and third races he brought us up from bad positions. He worried the other blokes until they cracked. He was the master.”
