Billings, both of New South Wales, on Sunday carded a two-under-par 71 for the best first-round score in the amateur foursomes championship of Australia, being played at the Royal Adelaide golf course. Next were the New Zealand partners, S. Jones and R. Murray, with 72. They went out in 38 and came home in 34. They had an eagle 3 on the fifteenth.
