K.P. WORKS PROBLEMS

Co-operation Offered It had been a very satisfactory meeting and the company’s representatives had offered full co-operation in meeting, as far as possible, the council’s and district requirements, said the Paparua County Council’s chairman (Mr D. H. Warren), after meeting directors of Kempthorne, Prosser and Company, Ltd, on Tuesday morning. The meeting, arranged after the council had received complaints from residents about operations at the company’s fertiliser works at Hornby, was between the council’s finance committee and two directors of the company, Mr W. L. Cunningham (chairman) and Dr E. F. D’Ath, the company’s fertiliser division manager (Mr P. M. Roberts) and the works manager (Mr D. J. Higgins). “We had a very full discussion and expressed the council’s concern on behalf of the public at problems that have arisen at the works,” said Mr Warren.
