STEADFAST CLUB

A Steadfast Club, the first of its kind in New Zealand, is being set up by the Canterbury Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade for senior boys, officers and boys who have left the movement.

The publicity officer for the battalion (Mr W. F. Bishop) said yesterday that the club would- be similar to clubs established in several areas in England, but it was hoped that it could be run on a wider scale.

The English clubs were mainly involved with university activities, he said. Membership would be open to boys aged 15 and over, and activities would include social gatherings and various forms of recreation such as tramping.

Circulars were being sent to companies in the area advertising the club, and it was hoped to hold the first meeting soon, said Mr Bishop.
