COURSES IN WELDING

In response to a widespread demand from farmers and young farmers Lincoln College is re-instituting the welding courses which were very popular several years ago. The plan for this year is to conduct three courses, in each of which applicants will be able to specialise in either gas or electric arc welding.

Course I from August 11 to 13 and Course II from August 18 to 20 are for those who have little or no experience in welding and want to start from the beginning.

Course 111 will be an advanced one—it will be held from November 24 to 26. Students who have completed the Lincoln diploma in agriculture or an earlier college welding short course or some similar course should find this latter course useful Mr D. B. MeSweehey, senior lecturer in rural education, says that the introduction of this course is one more reflection of the high standard of agricultural engineering that has been reached on farms in recent years. To make sure that students in course ID have a sufficient background to profit from the instruction and keep up with the class it is stated that it may be necessary to do some screening before applicants are accepted. Applications for entrance to these courses are required to be returned to the Registrar at the college by July 31.
